River Marked by Patricia Briggs

When I discovered Patricia Briggs series based on shapeshifting heroine Mercy Thompson, I knew I had found gold. What was not to love: a female mechanic who shifts into a coyote, werewolves, vampires, fae and lots of adventure/mysteries/action.  Each book builds yet another layer in this amazing world and the latest offering is not an exception. Mercy is part Indian and in this book Briggs explores more American Indian legends including Coyote with a capital 'C'.

Mercy and Adam finally tie the knot and head off in a borrowed trailer for a camping honeymoon. Where else would a werewolf and coyote go?  The loaned trailer and the loaned riverside campsite are courtesy of a fae who Mercy considers a friend, but as she well knows, fae just don't give things away without wanting something in return.

Something is in the water. Something big. Something of legend. And it will take legends to help Mercy and Adam destroy it.

As always, Briggs delivers a wonderful story, great characters and a well plotted adventure. I've never been disappointed in one of her novels. Well done.
