I didn't even open my Nook case this weekend. We were too busy to read. Between household chores, a football party, and an NBA basketball game, the fam was out and about.
Today brings rain. What is it with Mondays and rain of late. UGH. It rained so hard last night it woke me up. UGH.
No walking this morning for me and Duke. Too gross outside. I hope it passes through before it is time to leave work today. I wanted to stop by Aldi and get some groceries this afternoon. I hate grocery shopping in the rain. Wet cardboard is nasty.
On the bright side, we actually talked with the Londoner yesterday!!!! I was so excited to hear her voice and to learn of what she is doing. Very, very cool.
Sounds like the team there is keeping them busy, getting them acquainted with the city, and they are off to a great start for their semester. She texted yesterday to ask for input on where to travel to for her 7 and 10 day breaks.
Glad at this moment that she wasn't interested in Paris.
Okay, off into the week I go! Monday, get ready. I'm recharged and ready for battle.
Random thoughts on my writing journey, what I'm reading, my family, and my community. All before that first cup of coffee.

three days and out
Only three days of work this week then VACATION!! Whoop!!
So excited to head to Florida and see my folks and hit the beach. Ahhhh, that first cup of coffee surf side is one of my favorite things in life. I can't wait.
The middle kid is already on her way down there with her friend and that family. We will meet them and collect her next weekend.
Graduation weekend is all over. The actual ceremony clocked in at just over an hour. The speeches were short and to the point. The announcer read a name off every 3 seconds. They moved through those 465 kids in rapidly and got us all out of there. We had dinner at the local Italian bistro hubby and I went to for our anniversary. I had some amazing ravioli and their "gravy" was phenomenal. Good times.
This week we have the son's awards ceremony and his graduation from 8th grade. Wow. Off to high school he goes in August. He will have band camp this summer. Our days as soccer parents are truly good and over.
It was a crazy, busy, emotional weekend. We are on the roller coaster now.....well into the ride....exciting stuff!
Happy Monday.

whew
It was, to borrow a word a friend used, a HARROWING weekend. Major storms. Lots of rain. Lots of sirens. Lots of waiting for my hubby and oldest to drive home from the canceled soccer tourney. I think several folks will be writing some serious letter to that soccer club as their decision to try and play was stupid and dangerous to hundreds of families.
So glad calmer weather is ahead and it arrived just in time for us to celebrate a birthday. My middle kid has a birthday today and I have specially requested foodstuffs to make in honor of the event.
We watched quite a bit of TV during the weekend as the power, yippeee, never failed. We watched a few movies, the most notable being "The Blind Side." Loved it....and can see why Sandra Bullock won so many awards. She was perfect. What a nice film.
So, we made it through the storms and a new week is upon us, ready or not.
