Last week wasn't one of the more productive weeks I've had, but I managed to make a to do list on Friday and check every single item off as I completed it. Yes, I waited until Friday to get going, but once I did, I was glad I buckled down and worked.
It always feels good to finish several tasks. Makes you wonder why you procrastinated in the first place.
I have some long term projects that need work now. These aren't the types of things that go easily on a to do list. They are the projects that take days and even weeks of steady effort to finish. Of course, with the calendar showing we are entering the holiday season, perhaps now isn't the time to begin such efforts. I'm going to do it anyway.
So, watch out long languishing WIP and heads up to the unfinished genealogy project. Both of you are in my sights and it is time to pull the trigger.
I'm getting back in the groove.
Random thoughts on my writing journey, what I'm reading, my family, and my community. All before that first cup of coffee.

I've got nada
Maybe it is the week ahead, but for right now my poor brain is filled with so many random and totally disconnected thoughts that I can't even come up with a basic theme to blog about this morning.
Crazy as it sounds, I think I need to clean out our 'family' desk. By wrestling that beast into order, perhaps I can exert some control over the rest of the stuff that needs corralling.

monday monday
The count down is officially on for the big trip to Europe. The hubby actually beat me to the list making and yesterday he and our youngest hit the stores to purchase a few necessities for the trip and a few things that were definitely not necessary. That is the danger of letting a man loose at any store...they always come home with more than what was on the list. I never let him go to the grocery store, the budget would be blown for months.
I'm still not finished with the Strongbow saga books, hence no review on that trilogy. I think I have less than 50 pages to go. I really should try and knock that out today. Maybe after I get home from stocking the bookstore. I stopped in there yesterday after I dropped the oldest off at the game she was assigned to referee. Our stocking closet is in a meeting room and it was occupied, so no way to fill the store shelves. I did manage to get quite a bit of 'housekeeping' things done, which will make my job this week much easier.
I also picked up a book called "The Aviary Gate" by Katie Hickman. So far so good...it is a historical novel set in 1599 and the present. Lauren Willig employs this time jump tool in her books also.
Busy week ahead with two soccer games, three practices, three meetings and then all the usual stuff.
