I'm ready to roll, It is time to start 2016. I guess since I have been on vacation, I haven't really felt like the new year began. It all gets real today as I head back to the office after a lovely 2 week vacation.
I did not read as much as I thought I might. We had hubby's mom arrive for a short visit, took a quick trip to Florida, did some fun things with the three kids, and took care of normal everyday things around the house. We were busy!
In other news, I am very happy to have my laptop back! And, I'm very happy the first book I read of the year was such a good one. I'm also very happy that I seem to have escaped getting the cold that the hubby had.
Back into the routine I go. The boy starts school tomorrow. The ladies leave next Sunday. Second semester is here. We have a college graduation to attend in May. Yikes!!
As Ferris says, life moves pretty fast.
Random thoughts on my writing journey, what I'm reading, my family, and my community. All before that first cup of coffee.

here we go
The national meeting went as well as it could possibly go. Checking in exhibitors was smoother than last year. The records were better and the system was better.
It was a long 5 days and I was so glad to come home, but I did have some good times with my coworkers, my committee people, and our editorial review board. The workshop we presented was well received and we will submit again for next year.
So, the biggest part of our year is now behind us and we can slide into the holiday season. I have a magazine to pull together for December, but the content is coming in and it will be easy to complete now that we have our part time graphic designer in house.
Things are going well! I have selected a flat for us in London!! It will be about a 15 minute walk from where the kid is staying. Perfect. Tesco and Sainsbury are right around the corner. We won't have to eat every meal out. Nice!
Plane tickets are next.
Here we go into a new week......and come Wednesday, the oldest will arrive back in the nest for her fall break. Her bestie is home from NYC for her 21st birthday, so we will also get to visit with that young lady.
Good Stuff.

registered and ready to roll
The registration process was painless. Went to the varsity gym, showed our proof of residence, checked a form for accuracy and got his updated schedule. Then we were off to get his bus route info. Then we walked the halls and made sure he had a basic idea of where his classrooms are. Talked to a few teachers who know the girls and came on home. Easy peasy.
Then the reality of it all began to hit. He is starting high school! Wow. Ugh. Yikes. He has an ice cream social to attend tonight for the speech and debate team. The teacher in charge of that group and the forensics classes called to invite him. The gentleman also is in charge of the entire TV production "gang" at the school. I hope the boy finds his spot with this group of kids. They are tight knit and are quite successful.
The oldest is in the throes of packing and finishing her crafts. The middle is in the midst of squeezing every last minute of friend time out of each day before they all begin to head away for the first time.
Off we go. I won't be blogging tomorrow as we are heading out very early in the morning.
Enjoy the weekend.
