long weekend ahead

So excited for our long weekend to begin. But, first to get through the day ahead. Found out that one of our four lunch bunch group is going to move away! So, in the next month, our group of four will be cut in half. My coworker is off to the university to finish her PhD and our friend from another department is off to another state to start a new job.

Sigh.

My office dynamic is about to undergo a big change. Excited for them, but I'm a bit sad. Having fun coworkers is what keeps me going on those days when the work is a grind.

itchy eyes

Flipping allergies are killing me this morning! UGH. Blech! Argh!

I can't remember a Spring that triggered such awful allergies in me. No walking this morning. Just some hot coffee and yet another allergy pill.

The weekend is here come 2:00 for me. Yeah! Still no news on the job front, other than lots of second and third hand comments/rumors/gossip.

At this point, I've stopped listening and while the extra money would be awesome, I'm just fine if the offer isn't made. Another opportunity will turn up when the time is right.

no brainer

I think I might be stuffing 'take-away' bags today at work for the upcoming convention my boss will be attending. There are days, and today is shaping up to be one of them, when no brainer activities are best!

Nothing like filling 300 bags with biomedical science info to keep a girl busy!

I'm well into Anne Rice's "The Wolf Gift" now. I just adore her. Someday, maybe when I retire for good, I will read all of her books in order and witness the evolution of this amazing writer.
