whirlwind

The weekend went by in a whirlwind. We had errands to run on Saturday, including a trip to the golf store for the hubby and a trip to the jewelry store for me. No new bling, just repairs. I also took my phone to the apple store as the camera was crashing. They 'restored' it and of course as soon as I started to take prom pics, it crashed again and again and again. I managed to get the pics I wanted, but it is on the fritz and I need to find time to get back over there and get a new phone.

While we were out the kids cleaned the house and bought me flowers for Mother's Day.

Prom was Saturday. We made two photo opp stops with the girl before delivering her to the boy's house. Everyone was meeting there to get the party bus. Helped the boy's mom get set up for the kids and the food buffet and met his grandma. Really nice and fun people. Took some great pics too!

Came home and went through pics, got them edited, and slapped an album up on Facebook. Sunday the hubby and I went to Mass, the kids slept, and we hit the grocery store after to get some food.

Made it home and called my Mom!! Yay!  Had lunch and then took both the girls to the soccer field for their game. The oldest was the super sub...who played the entire game. They were seriously short players as the majority of the seniors didn't show up.UGH! The game tied 0-0.

After the game we came home and got cleaned up for baccalaureate. That lasted 2 hours. Always interesting to hear the verses the kids select and to listen to their meditations. No representatives from our church on the planning committee this year.

Then we came home and I made dinner. We ate. We watched some TV. I went to bed.

That was all. Up this week is an assortment of activities for graduation. It is going to be a busy one!

Monday. Ready or Not, the week is beginning.

two wins

It was truly a win-win. Team Rondo beat the previously undefeated Team Ajax 1-0 on Friday night. It was a match to behold. Tough, gritty, fast, FUN! Ajax boasted an unbeaten record for 3 seasons until that match. Yay RONDO!!  The kids were thrilled and it was tons of fun to see them so excited.

Then on Sunday, Rondo won again 4-2 over another CSA team. Again, fun to watch....until late in the second, the darling middle kid went up to head the ball and collided with a boy. Down she went. A few scary moments, but she was/is fine.

We have also sorted out the birthday, graduation, etc. festivities for the end of the year. She is going to have her b-day party on her b-day and keep the guest list to the small side. Then, at the end of July, we are going to have her graduation/off to college party. So, we can send out her graduation announcements now. Whew. Too much going on in a short period. I'm glad we have this all scheduled and now we can relax a bit.  Her boyfriend is having his graduation party the day after her birthday and should be back in town for her party by the end of July. He is off to work on a farm in the delta for a month and a half. Should have seen the look on his face when he thought he might miss her party. One sad young man. Well, it is all solved now.

The boy gets confirmed this week! Hard to believe. Off to the cathedral we will go on Thursday.

Should be a quiet week beyond that. I did a ton of cooking on Saturday, so we have real food to eat this week. It was great grilling weather, so we took advantage of it.

graduation week

Graduation week is here. I will be the mom of a high school graduate in just a few short hours. I'm feeling my age a bit this morning. I had a rough night and didn't sleep well. The storm that rolled through didn't help matters, but it was more my mind that kept me awake than the thunder and lightning. Thoughts about the past 18 years kept rolling around in my head. Not bad thoughts, lots and lots of good thoughts. Yet, it was enough that falling asleep was difficult.

Concentrating at work is going to be a bit of a chore.

In other news, the middle daughter and I went to the library yesterday. I found two books and she came home with three, one of which she read while we were at the baccalaureate service for the older one last night. I gave the other two kids a 'pass' on attending that as I knew seating would be at a premium. She is on a mission for scary mysteries with a bit of a paranormal element to them. We picked out "Relic" the first Aloysius Pendergast novel by Preston & Childs. If she likes it, she is set as they have about 10 books featuring Pendergast.

Okay, off to get more coffee and see if the paper has arrived yet.
